Michael Farry was seconded as ICT Advisor to Navan Education Centre for the years 1999 to 2008. He served the primary and post-primary schools of Meath and Cavan. He advised them on the integration of ICT into the curriculum, organised training courses for teachers and organised projects involving the use of ICT in education.

The website he developed as information and support for the schools in the area gives an idea of the range of advice offered and support activities engaged in.

While ICT Advisor Michael Farry was the Irish co-ordinator of the Viking Network based in Norway which was established by Wigo Skramm with the assistance of the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education, Research and Church Affairs.

Michael also set up the Viking Network Ireland website which contains resources for schools and students on the history of the vikings in Ireland. It has ideas for school projects and some examples of schools' projects on the theme of Vikings. It also contains some information on recently published books on vikings and Viking related events in Ireland. This website is no longer being updated.
